Copyrights in Commerce

A person, using copyright registered works held by another, may be held liable for infringement under 17 U.S. Code Section 501(a) of the United States copyright law, unless permission is obtained or a fair-use exists or the work is in the public domain.

Obtain permission from the copyright holder for the use of famous works of art, registered trademarks and the likeness of famous people.
